ADVANTAGES OF FLOATING FLOORS
Several qualities of floating floors are available on the market, depending on their thickness, density, and finish. In general, the thicker the floating floor, the more durable, stable, and comfortable it is. This type of flooring is known to be more resistant to wear, impacts, and scratches than hardwood flooring.
Floating floors are installed without glue or nails; the planks interlock with each other. They are made of high-density fiberboard (HDF) and are more resistant to moisture, expansion, and contraction than hardwood floors. The top layer replicates the appearance and texture of various natural wood species almost perfectly while coming in different colors.
Some floating floors may have a top layer of hardwood (engineered wood floating floors) with various traditional or exotic wood species. There are also vinyl floating floors, which are extremely water-resistant and softer (and more comfortable) underfoot. Most manufacturers offer excellent warranties on floating floors.
